Job Background
Our client is an international human rights monitoring and advocacy organization and they are currently seeking an experienced Fundraiser for the role of Associate Director with the Development & Outreach Department.
Job Duties
Reporting to the European Director of Development & Outreach, the London Associate Director will oversee the activities of the Development and Outreach department in the London office as well as the London Committee whose purpose is to contribute financially, raise awareness, participate in advocacy campaigns and introduce contacts. The Associate Director’s responsibilities will include: • working with the European Director on the management and implementation of the major gift fundraising program; • cultivating and directly soliciting major gift contributions; • managing the growth of the fundraising network in the UK; • promoting the domestic and international advocacy initiatives to local audiences; • developing and implementing strategy for the London Committee and also supporting the London Committee with regard to communications, meetings, briefings, roles and responsibilities and managing the sub-committees for the Annual Dinner, Benefit Gala and “Cries from the Heart” events; • overseeing the concept, strategy and implementation of events, and managing the fundraising associated with such events; • supervising the Events Manager and Development & Outreach Manager; • overseeing packaged campaigns and advocacy activities; • developing partnerships with local organizations to raise awareness of human rights • overseeing the London Network strategy;

Job Qualifications
Person specification: The successful applicant will have a minimum of eight years of fundraising experience, with emphasis on the creation and management of major gifts programs, and must possess strong oral and written communications skills. Experience with overseeing large fundraising events and managing a variety of volunteers is essential. The applicant must be a disciplined self-starter who can work independently but also function as a member of a development team. The candidate must have a demonstrated commitment to human rights and/or international issues and the capacity to master and successfully represent the mission and programme of the organisation
