Job Background

The Program Director leads the organisation in Haiti’s overall Program, including the response to the Haiti earthquake of January 2010. He/she is the line manager for the Senior Program Managers and Senior Advisors for programs and interventions for children, young people and communities. He/she ensures that all aspects of the Program are designed, implemented, monitored and evaluated in line with the organisation's rights based Child Centered Community Development approach, approved Country strategy and with best practices in the various sectors. He/she is a member of the Country Management Team.

Job Duties

•        On-going analysis of the situation of communities, especially children, young people and women in Haiti, especially in the organisation's main operational areas.

•        Planning and monitoring Program activities, and ensuring evaluation

•        Line management, supervision and mentoring of Senior Program Managers and Advisors.

•        Overall supervision of relationships with partners

•        Oversight of Program budgets and expenditures

•        Preparing modifications, adjustments and innovations in overall programming in response to evolving needs and opportunities

•        Liaison, negotiation and building of alliances and partnerships with governmental bodies, other agencies and civil society organizations

•        Ensuring preparation of periodic and progress reports on a timely basis for Plan itself, for Haitian authorities and for coordinating bodies

•        Ensuring integration of all the organisation in Haiti’s programs.

•        Ensuring development of the skills and experience of Program staff and of key partner staff, including in financial and administrative procedures

•        Ensuring close cooperation between Program staff and colleagues from Grants and Finance for development of grants proposals, production of grants reports and compliance with grant agreement and contract requirements.

•        Ensuring close cooperation between Program and Operations staff, especially with community development staff at PU level.

•        Ensuring close cooperation between Program and Communications and Advocacy colleagues

 
Salary

$75,000 - $80.000 plus generous benefits
