Job Purpose: Job Duties
1. Lead in developing their overall learning and development strategy. 3. Lead on the organisation’s overall monitoring of return on learning and development investment. Monitor expenditure across the core management and leadership development budget. 4. Facilitate the identification of key behaviours and competencies to build a culture that reflects their values and enables the delivery of their strategy. 5. Support Directors and Senior managers in an annual review of management performance and potential in order to inform succession planning and development plans. 6. Provide advice and specialist expertise to country based HR managers (including in the UK) on learning and development strategies and interventions and on external sources of support to managers and individuals as required.
8. Develop succession planning and career development tools. 9. Support the development of performance management systems to help managers to ensure that staff receive meaningful, actionable feedback on their performance and effective personal development plans. 10. Identify and develop new sources of talent including exploring graduate schemes, internships, secondment arrangements etc. 11. Ensure that talent management strategies and tools enable them to maximise on the diversity of its people. |

Person specification: • Substantial experience of specifying, procuring, designing, delivering and evaluating learning and development programmes, with particular emphasis on leadership and management development programmes. • Excellent strategic thinking and awareness. • An innovator. • Good awareness of the latest trends in learning and development and particularly leadership and management development. • Experience of leading and managing others. • Appreciation of cultural differences and of the difference this makes to management and leadership styles and learning styles. • Strong communication and interpersonal skills. • Self confidence and sound judgement. Able to influence senior managers and be seen as a credible source of advice and feedback. • Good coaching and mentoring skills with an approach that builds capacity rather than dependency. • Flexible and resourceful. • A team player, able to work in a collaborative way. • Commitment to their values and a working style that demonstrates these. • Willing and able to travel overseas around 4 - 6 times per year. • Chartered Membership of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development would be desirable.
